Our results in external examinations both in recent years and over a sustained period are excellent and we are justifiably proud of the achievements of our students at both GCSE and A Level. A summary of results is available by clicking the ‘Exam Fact Sheet’ option on the tool bar to the left. A full departmental breakdown of results is available by clicking on ‘Results’. We are also very proud of our record at getting our Sixth Form students into the best universities across the country to study very competitive courses. A full list is available under ‘Destinations’.
By the end of Year 11, students will have gained an IGCSE Mathematics, GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature. A student’s GCSE profile will also include physics, chemistry, biology, at least one modern language and three other subjects taken from the vast choice that is available across the humanities, arts and technology subjects. In addition all students take an OCR National course in ICT that leads to a qualification equivalent to GCSE standard.
The usual course of study in the Sixth Form is for a student to take four AS subjects in the Lower Sixth Form and continue with three of these subjects in the Upper Sixth Form to full A level. In addition, all students take an AS level in critical thinking and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is also available.
