Girls' Hockey

We are fortunate at King Henry VIII to have several experienced hockey coaches who manage the teams. Hockey has always been a popular sport, and the number of girls participating is increasing. Matches are played throughout the week and on Saturday mornings on the artificial pitch.

As in netball, teams are run for all age groups; unfortunately very few local schools play hockey. This means that the teams often have to travel outside Coventry for fixtures. In recent years a squad of senior players enjoyed a three week tour to Australia and the school is regularly represented at county level.

Boys' Hockey

Boys' Hockey has improved dramatically over the past few years. Teams are run at U14, U15, U16, 2nd XI and 1st XI. All have enjoyed great success in a fixture list which has improved over the years and now includes many of the strong Independent schools in the Midlands. Several boys have represented Warwickshire, Midlands and our 1st XI Captain was selected for the England U18 squad. The team recently toured Singapore and Australia, a learning experience which has paid dividends on our local circuit.
