Hales School Day

Our school day at Hales involves lots of learning, mixed up with activities that take place outside the classroom. We share our facilities with the Senior School so there are lots of collaborative teaching lessons in Science Labs, Music Rooms and Design Technology workshops!
The Teaching Day
8:40 a.m – Registration
8.50 a.m – Lesson 1
9.50 a.m – Morning Break
10:10 a.m – Lesson 2
11.10 a.m – Lesson 3
12:10 p.m – Lunch followed by Break
1:10 p.m – Assembly
1.35 p.m – Lesson 4
2:35 p.m – Lesson 5
3.35 p.m – Form time
3:40 p.m – End of Day
Before School
Early morning supervision is available for children arriving early for school from 7.45 a.m.
After School
Supervised care is available between 3.40 and 4.00 p.m. on the playground, during which period parents may collect children
We also have a ‘Sibling Bus’ which transports those children with brothers and sisters at Swallows to Hales, so that parents only have to collect from one campus. This can be booked in advance using our online system.
Between 4.00 and 5.00 p.m. there are a variety of after school activities and clubs.Activities run by King Henry’s staff are free of charge and activities run by external providers are chargeable. You can visit our Extra-Curricular Page for more information
Between 4.00 and 6.00 p.m., we run an Aftercare Club where children are supervised and supported with their homework. There is an hourly charge for this.
