THE SCHOOL DAY: NURSERY (children aged 3 – 4)

7.45 a.m. Breakfast club

8.15 a.m. A member of Nursery staff goes to School Hall (Swallows Campus) to care for children who do not wish to take breakfast but need early care.

8.30 a.m. Nursery opens. Registration.

9.00 a.m. A rolling programme of focused group activities based on pre-reading, writing, numeracy skills; topic related activities that may include art, design, model-ling, cookery and role play; outdoor play and child-initiated activities.

10.00—10.30 a.m. Milk and snack. Story time.

10.30 a.m. Activities continue.

11.45 a.m. Lunch (for those who are staying)

12.00 noon Morning session ends


Rest and free play – circle time – outdoor play

1.10 p.m. Afternoon session begins with story time and an option to rest/have a nap in the quiet area between 1.30—2.15pm

1.30—3.00pm Main area/Outdoor: topic related activities that may include art, de-sign, modelling, cookery and role play.

2.30 p.m. Option to have milk and snack (provided)

3.00 p.m. Story time.

3.15 p.m. Independent play and collection

3.30 p.m. Nursery day ends.

3.30 p.m. After-care based in the Nursery

6.00 p.m. End of the School Day

Music, PE and Forest Fun activities also feature in the weekly timetable.
