The emphasis for our after-school club is a fun introduction to football and at the same time we actively encourage good sportsmanship, promote teamwork, leadership and respect. We are fortunate in the Preparatory School to have access to LAMDA teachers who teach pupils extra-curricular Speech and Drama and Acting Lessons through into the Senior School. This means that there are a wide variety of opportunities for the pupils and it is sometimes possible to continue with the same tutor throughout a pupil’s whole school career.

Pupils discover a wide range of poetry and prose and learn how to interpret their meanings and experience a variety of skills including staging techniques, mime, role-play and improvisation.

Mandarin Chinese Club

Recent educational thinking has highlighted the relevance of teaching Mandarin Chinese in modern UK schools. Primary school is a great time to introduce children to a second language; young brains can adapt to new skills with greater ease and fewer preconceptions.

My teaching style is fun, multi-sensory and highly interactive. After all, enjoyment and accessing plenty of practice are the best ways to allow children to excel at language. Employing visual, auditory and kinaesthetic methods in teaching and learning ensures that all children are involved in the enjoyment of language acquisition.
